Questions and answers

What people ask most often.

Answers with numbers, together with the list of things we do not do. We would rather lose an inquiry than promise something we cannot deliver.

What we check and how fast

How is this different from plain uptime monitoring? +

Plain monitoring asks the server whether it responds. A software failure can return an empty page with status 200, so for that kind of check the website looks healthy. In every plan we also watch a control phrase in the content of the home page, the certificate and the domain expiry, and from the Start plan the content of pages from the sitemap, scripts and redirects, and changes in the domain and DNS.

How long does it take from failure to notification? +

Those are two numbers and both depend on the plan: time to detection and time to notification. Free 10 and 15 minutes, Start 2 and 4 minutes, Business 1 and 3 minutes, Enterprise 1 and 2 minutes. Every detection is confirmed by a second reading, because an alert from a single measurement is false more often than it is true.

Will you notice that a deployment broke a website that still opens? +

That is what the content review is for. It catches soft 404 pages, a drop in the amount of content, incomplete page code, 4xx and 5xx errors, broken images and links, duplicated meta tags, a missing key element of the page and a shrinking sitemap. The number of addresses checked depends on the plan: 100 on Start, 500 on Business, from 2000 on Enterprise. When the website is larger than the plan, the panel and the report say plainly how many addresses out of how many we check, and you choose the pages that are always included.

Will I get false alarms? +

Every detection is confirmed by a second reading, and you set the threshold of failed checks yourself on the monitor. Quiet hours hold back less important notifications, critical ones always get through. An SMS goes out only when a critical outage opens, to a number confirmed with a code: 20 messages a month on Start, 100 on Business.

How does a notification arrive and what do I get at the end of the month? +

Notifications go by email (no limit in any plan), SMS, Telegram, a browser notification and an entry in the panel. Everyone on the team picks their own channels, separately for each website. A PDF report arrives monthly from the Start plan and weekly from Business: uptime, events with response times, hours of work, findings from the content review, performance of the measured addresses and the state of the content management system.

Getting started and access

Do I have to install anything on the server? +

No. Monitoring from the outside starts as soon as you give us the address. The plugin is optional and shows what cannot be seen from the outside: versions, overdue updates, the state of scheduled tasks and disk space. We have it for WordPress, Neos, Sylius and Magento. Any other system stays on monitoring from the outside, which works without installing anything.

Do you need passwords to the website or the server? +

We never ask for passwords. The plugin sends nothing on its own: it exposes a control address protected by a key, and we are the ones who ask for it. You hand over server access only when you order server care, and that is a separate decision, not a condition of using the monitoring.

How long does it take to get started? +

The free technical review takes two minutes, without an account and without a payment card. It ends with a score and a list of tasks you can hand to a developer as a link: a person without an account sees the description and, once the fix is deployed, runs the check again. An account needs nothing but an email address, and signing in works through a link, without a password.

Why confirm domain ownership? +

So that nobody monitors a website they do not own and reads its state. Confirmation goes through one of four methods: a script on the website, a TXT record, a meta tag or a file on the server. Monitoring starts straight away and there are 24 hours to confirm.

Plans and billing

How much does it cost? +

Free 0 PLN, Start 99 PLN, Business 299 PLN net per month for one website. Enterprise starts at about 999 PLN net and comes out of a conversation, because the scope is agreed individually. Yearly billing is about 17 per cent cheaper, and additional configuration plus a one-off consultation are included.

Do I pay per account or per website? +

Per website. The plan and the response time targets belong to the website, not to the account, so a landing page can sit on the free plan while the shop next to it runs on Business, inside one account. Each website has its own subscription and its own cancellation, so ending one does not touch the others.

What happens when a payment fails? +

Monitoring keeps running. For seven days in the full scope of the plan, with a notice in the panel and a message to the account owner, and after that the website moves to the free plan. We do not switch checks off after the first failed attempt and we do not go silent without warning.

Can I cancel at any time? +

Yes. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, after which the website returns to the free plan. History and settings stay, only how long they are kept changes: 7 days on Free, 6 months on Start and Business, a year on Enterprise.

Will I get an invoice? +

Yes, for every payment. Our accounting department issues it from the billing record and it arrives at the address given at purchase. We do not issue invoices automatically from the panel and we say so plainly, instead of showing a document there that does not exist yet.

Data and the limits of the service

What do you see of my website? +

Numbers and service states: response times, versions, the state of the certificate and the domain, results of checks. We do not collect the content of the website, the data of your customers or the contents of the database. The list of accounts with full permissions arrives as a one-way fingerprint salted with the secret of your installation: enough to detect a change, useless anywhere outside your website.

What does Calmfox Watch not do? +

We do not make backups or run disaster recovery, we do not scan for malware, we do not analyse application errors and we do not monitor from several locations around the world. Integrity checks will also not catch content served selectively to some visitors, nor scripts added by a tag manager. This list is shorter than the list of features and more important than it.

Do you fix what you find? +

Detection and notification are always on our side. The fix belongs to the team that maintains the website: it receives the description, the address and a list of tasks, and once the fix is deployed it runs the check again with one click, also without an account. Work on our side and out-of-hours duty are part of the Enterprise contract.

Do you promise an SLA? +

Below the Enterprise plan we do not promise a response time from our team, and we say so plainly. The uptime targets and response times you set in the panel describe your commitment to your own client, and those are what the report settles. Our duty hours and our response times are agreed on the Enterprise plan, before the contract is signed, based on the brief.

Your question is not here?

The inquiry wizard collects the context in three steps, so the reply is specific straight away instead of asking for details.
